Sarah Welch, Esq. is a proven Criminal Defense, DUI/DWI, Traffic and Civil Litigation Attorney.
Ms. Welch has successfully earned a reputation throughout the Commonwealth of Virginia and in the United States District Court as an outstanding advocate for her clients. Recognizing that no two cases are alike, she takes pride in working one-on-one with her clients to achieve the best possible result for their particular legal issues. She is passionate about her client’s rights and takes the time to investigate the evidence in each case. Ms. Welch attended Virginia Tech, where she studied Political Science, Sociology and History. While there, she served as President of Phi Alpha Delta Pre-Law Fraternity and was an active member of the Virginia Tech chapters of Kappa Kappa Gamma and the American Civil Liberties Union.
She graduated from New York Law School in 2007. During her time there, she focused her studies in criminal law and procedure under the guidance of practicing public defenders and district attorneys in New York and New Jersey. While attending school, she also served as President of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, Secretary of the Student Bar Association, Secretary of the Public Interest Coalition and remained an active member of the American Civil Liberties Union. Additionally, she received the Government Fellowship Award in 2005 and 2006 for her work in the public interest sector.
While in college, Ms. Welch clerked for the Law Office of Jay B. Myerson and the firm of Phillips, Beckwith, Hall & Chase. During law school, she gained hands-on criminal defense experience by clerking for the Honorable Rosemarie Annunziata, of the Virginia Court of Appeals, and the Honorable Robert W. Wooldridge, Jr., of the Fairfax County Circuit Court. She also clerked at the King’s County District Attorney’s Office and the Fairfax County Public Defender’s Office, where she represented clients on a variety of cases and assisted senior attorneys with pre-trial investigations, trial preparation and strategy and appeals.
Following law school, Ms. Welch volunteered as a pro bono attorney with Legal Services of Northern Virginia, where she successfully represented domestic violence victims in obtaining protective orders. In 2009, she joined the Law Offices of Patrick N. Anderson & Associates, PC as an associate focusing on criminal defense. In 2013, she joined The Bugg Law Firm, PLLC as a senior associate. While serving these firms, she advocated for and defended the rights of hundreds of clients charged with criminal and traffic offenses throughout Virginia.
In July 2015, Ms. Welch joined Naum Estevez, PLLC. While serving this firm, her knowledge and experience has continued to grow. She currently represents clients in all jurisdictions throughout Northern Virginia. Her defense experience has resulted in the successful resolution of matters including: Manslaughter, Malicious Wounding, Sex Offenses, Narcotics offenses, Prescription Fraud cases, Financial crimes, Child Support Enforcement, Juvenile crimes, serious traffic matters and a variety of other misdemeanor and felony offenses.
Ms. Welch is well respected member of the Virginia Bar Association, Fairfax County Bar Association and Prince William County Bar Association. She is also an active member of the Northern Virginia, Prince William County and Loudoun County chapters of the Virginia Women Attorneys Association.
